About the Garden

Featured on the tour last year at just five months old, Jack’s garden is back and better than ever! This 2,300 sq ft corner lot was boring turf grass for decades before re-planted in November 2022 as a part of the LADWP turf replacement program. Now at a year and a half old, Jack’s Garden is absolutely overflowing with life thanks to a few hundred California native plants, fruit trees, two dry creek beds designed for different microclimates, a bubbling fountain, wildflowers galore and a Coast Live Oak tree. Whether you’re looking to convert your lawn or kick off your weekend, Jack’s Garden would be a great place to start. And if you came by last year, the garden would absolutely love to see you again.
