One of my greatest pleasures is sitting in my garden. I enjoy the interplay of different textures and colors. The soft, gray leaves of Jones’ Bush Mallow next to the dark pink flowers of the redbud. A fountain of deer grass juxtaposed against the dark green leaves and purple bark of the Louis Edmunds manzanita. Movement is created not only with plant textures and colors but with the repetition of undulating corrugated metal, redwood, old brick, and welded wire. Mosaics of urbanite create meandering pathways that lead to the raised vegetable garden and to visit tortoises and chickens.
