About the Garden

Fragrant sages perfume the front yard of this eclectic, cottage-style landscape created by its owner, a long-time Theodore Payne volunteer. In the back yard of the two-decade-old garden at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains, vegetables and citrus comingle with native elderberry, buckwheat, and other plants that attract pollinators. Water for the garden is collected on-site in cisterns.
