23-Hursley & Glass Garden

We are designers by day and nature enthusiasts by night; this garden has been an opportunity to blend these two aspects of our lives. We designed and constructed the garden using incentives offered by LADWP and the resources we found in our own backyard in the form of concrete pathways, later transformed into urbanite. Inspired by the idea of a “Secret Garden”, our goal was to expand this small plot by creating moments of discovery and relaxation. The winding pathway takes you past bathing birds, fluttering butterflies, and buzzing bees. Amongst the foliage, there are places to dine with friends, warm yourself at the firepit, or sit quietly with your thoughts.
