34-Historic Hollywood Legion Post 43

With funding from LADWP and MWD’s turf replacement rebate program, guidance from professional designers, and hands-on garden workdays that brought together veterans and neighborhood volunteers, Post 43 transformed its grounds into a landscape that reflects the natural history of our unique Hollywood setting at the foot of the Santa Monica Mountains. More than three dozen California native species are now represented across over one hundred new trees, shrubs, and flowering perennials and annuals — evoking how this site may have looked when the Post first broke ground during the silent-film era.
