About the Garden

What to do with all the broken concrete (urbanite) from the old driveway? Where to put the vegetable garden? How to incorporate living spaces for the chickens and tortoises, birds and butterflies? The challenge of so many design considerations. Urbanite became meandering, purposeful pathways that interconnect the tortoise habitat with the vegetable garden, the patio and chicken yard. A giant coast live oak creates the feeling of a tree house. Raised vegetable gardens line the driveway. A dry creek bed “flows” towards the water feature on the patio that welcomes birds and insects to drink and humans to sit and observe.
